Journalist & Photographer Kendra Kabasele's Anita Claire Project has been featured on Essence.com! You can find the article here! While the project honors the bond between mothers and daughters all year long, the feature comes just in time for Mother's Day and is the perfect way for Kendra to honor and remember her mother, and mothers around the world. Kendra has said, "From the depths of the worst pain one could ever endure, I decided to honor and celebrate mothers all year long, because that was what my brother Karl and I did for ours."

Kendra captured photos again this year for Essence Magazine's yearly Black Women in Hollywood honoree luncheon event. It was the Eighth Annual luncheon. Go to essence.com for more photos and coverage of the event. Catch the event when it airs on Oprah's OWN Network Saturday, February 21 at 10pm ET. 

Honorees included the cast of Orange is the New Black, actress Regina King, actress, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Costume Designer Ruth E. Carter and film contest winner Iman N. Milner.

Last year I had the chance to photograph the 6th Annual Essence Magazine Black Women in Hollywood honoree luncheon. I shot the event, for the first time, for the magazine's Instagram and was so inspired.

Caught on tape - thankfully!

So grateful to have been present to experience Lupita Nyong'o's acceptance speech for her honor at Essence Magazine's 7th Annual Black Women in Hollywood luncheon last week. I was crouched down in position to take photos of her for Essence Magazine's Instagram and was caught in a crowd reaction shot...(just after the 3 min mark)...thankful for the keepsake!
