Kendra supports The Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation’s Girls Who Rule the World mentoring weekend through The Anita Claire Project and photography

Kendra recently had the opportunity to support The Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation's Girls Who Rule the World mentoring weekend

To read about her experience and to view the photos, go here!

"The mentoring camp for young girls took place in Roberta, Georgia and was a long weekend of motivation, inspiration and insight. The young mentees were able to get away from the distractions of home, sans cell phones, in order to concentrate on themselves. A program focused on, as their mission states, “the importance of positive self-image, responsible personal conduct, respect for self and others, educational achievement and cultural enrichment.” Imagine a designated place for young girls to focus on, well, being young girls. Imagine a safe place for these girls to meet, bond with and trust one another. Imagine life-long friendships formed. Imagine a place where these young girls feel supported and listened to; a place where they can share their innermost ideas, thoughts, feelings, fears, doubts and dreams. Imagine a place where those insights are heard, supported, nurtured and actively resolved with a roadmap outlining plans to be implemented. Imagine the cultivation of young minds, hearts and spirits in an effort to launch confident girls who will rule the world. All of these things were imagined by Steve and Marjorie Harvey when they created the program. They had the vision and turned it into a reality." - Kendra

"Confidence is always in season!"

Fashion photographer Corina Howell launches her first video creation and calls upon her friends to help her out! Kendra participated in the video and had this to say:

"I would have to say that being asked to be a part of the project was perfect timing. After living through personal tragedy last year, I have had to rebuild my life from what felt like the ground up. In doing so, and with the best support system I could ever ask for, I was able to, despite the deepest pain I've ever known, get through each minute, with a strength and confidence I didn't think could be there, in those moments. As [my mom] lives on, inside my heart, I gain my strength from that. I thank you for this project of yours! It's not only about fun, seasonal make-up and outward beauty, but about the confidence that radiates from within, and beautifies, every season, throughout the year!" - Kendra

Kendra A. Kabasele launches The Anita Claire Project!

"The Anita Claire Project is a project very near and dear to my heart. Losing my mom this past summer was the most devastating time and the darkest hour of my life. In the time shortly after that, it hit me that one of the ways I wanted to honor her was through photography. I’ve worked in photography for over 10 years and decided to get behind the camera to capture moments and memories for other mothers and daughters. The bond between a mother and her daughter is indescribable. There is something intangible yet simultaneously palpable in the connection experienced and witnessed between mothers and daughters. The goal of this project? I had an extremely close bond with my mom and felt this would be a beautiful way to honor her, offer keepsakes to the participating mothers and daughters, and inspire others.

Launching the project on Mother’s Day is my gift to her. The project will then feature mothers and daughters ongoing.

As much as I feel I chose the project, I truly believe this project chose me.

I love you, Mom.

- Kendra"

Another beautiful day in Southern California yesterday took me to Rancho Palos Verdes. I was greeted by stunning views and postcard worthy sights. It was nice to pause and take in the beauty as well as the warm glow of the perfect sunset.
